A-B Loop Practice Player
“Slow the hard bar down until it gives itself up.”
Load a recording of your own playing. It plays and decodes right here in your browser tab — the file is never uploaded, never sent anywhere, never leaves this device.
How to use
Quick start: A-B Loop Practice Player
- Press Choose an audio file and pick a song or recording from your device. The file is played in your browser and is not uploaded.
- Play to the start of the section you want to practice and press Set A (or the A key). Play to the end of it and press Set B (or the B key).
- Turn the loop on with Loop on (or the L key). Playback now repeats between A and B.
- Lower the speed in 5 percent steps. Speed can go from 50 percent to 120 percent, and the pitch is held steady where your browser allows it.
- Optionally enable the ramp, which raises the speed by 2 percent after a number of clean loops that you choose, up to full speed.
Questions
- Is my audio file uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is loaded and played inside your browser and never leaves your device.
- Will slowing the audio down change the pitch?
- In browsers that support pitch-preserving playback, the pitch stays the same as you slow down. If your browser cannot do this, the tool tells you that the pitch will shift with speed.
- What are the keyboard shortcuts?
- Space plays and pauses, A and B set the loop marks, L toggles the loop, and the arrow keys seek by 2 seconds.
- What does the speed ramp do?
- With a valid A-B loop active, the ramp raises the playback speed by 2 percent each time you complete the number of loops you set, and stops at full speed. It is meant for practicing a hard passage slowly and bringing it up to tempo.
